Creating signage is often considered something which is not that fun and that it will take you ages to develop something that you can actually put outside your office, store, etc. We feel that one of the reasons for feeling that way about signage is that we do not initiate the creative thinking and design processes the way we are supposed to. Another very important thing to keep in mind here is that we tend to overcommit and when we are not able to meet the deadlines, we deliver tasks in haste and we are sure that is not something we want to do, right?

So, what are the problems here that we do not fix and keep doing what our clients and team leads ask us to do? It could be a lot many things but poor decision making within the teams is something that results in average and monotonous work which does not bring anything new to the table, let alone good results. And we are sure that we would want to avoid all of that happening, but the fact that we are so overworked all the time, that we do not get to cater to the issues that we happen to have can become something problematic.

Whenever you get the brief to create something, you first need to understand what and how long will it take for you to deliver the task. Plan out everything, every minor task to assigning big roles to the people who would be involved in the projects and make sure that you are also interacting with them from time to time so in case, someone wants to share a concern or two can communicate it with you and then you guys can work together as all great teams do. That being said; allow anyone and everyone to be creative so that you can get as many ideas as you can from different perspectives to always bring something new to the table. This practice won’t just do you good, but you will see the impact it is going to make on the audiences as well.

Also, when it comes to creating signage, do not go too hard on yourself and do not discard your ideas just like that – record them and go to them from time to time in order to create something even better after amalgamating a couple of ideas into one. We feel that mostly, the signage looks boring and dull mainly because we have this very basic understanding of it in mind that it has to be very corporate-y and that it can’t be fun. Know that that is so not the case. You are allowed to make fun signage to connect more strongly with your audiences and to create an even stronger recall in their minds. For starters, try something new by changing the shape of the signage like we just did when we were working on our free round acrylic signage mock-up PSD file. And honestly, we did not have to do a lot to make that happen either because all we did was to follow the thought process and here we are.

This signage that we have created can be used for small cafes, bakeries, beauty salons and nail bars as well and in addition to that, you can also use them for your stationery shops too – with your beautiful branding and the ability to think outside the box, we are sure that you will be creating something so attractive, everyone would want to visit your place at least once to find out more about your products and services and make sure that you make it worth their while so taht they can keep coming in later as well.
