Hi there! How are you guys doing these days? We hope that all is well at your end and that you guys are also having a great time reading our blogs. For our today’s blog, we wanted to share something super unique and different from the stuff we usually share here so we decided to share this beautiful butterflies & moths pop-up postcard series created by Nikolett László (don’t worry, we will share more about her later in the blog!). Know that we are super excited to share everything that you guys need to know to make the most of what we are about to share so, let’s get started without any further delays.
Do you guys love sending out or receiving postcards? We know that things have become way too digital for a person to grab a postcard and then send it to someone but even then, there is something so human about postcards that even in today’s time and age, people want to invest in them. And do you guys know what’s the best thing about postcards? The fact that any theme can be applied to them and they will turn out nothing but beautiful – so much so that one can’t resist buying them. So, we thought it would be a good idea to share this beautiful and informative collection of pop-up postcard series; and not just plain postcards but the ones which feature butterflies and moths. We are sure that you will love them as much as we did but before we dive into the pool of creativity, we would like to talk about the person who came up with the unique idea, Nikolett László. Make sure that you read the blog till the end to know more about Nikolett as well as her beautiful creations.
Nikolett is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator from Hungary who offers her services to her clients. This pop-up postcard series project created by Nikolett features 12 informative postcards. The beauty of these postcards is that the designer has showcased the species of butterflies and moths that live in Hungary. In addition to the beautiful designs, Nikolett has also added brief descriptions for the viewers, etc. to know more about the insects. If you look at the designs, you will notice how she has made the most of the postcards’ space to write that text and also make it look so attractive that anyone and everyone who would come across the cards won’t just read what’s written on them but will instantly want to purchase them too. And quite frankly speaking, we think that describes how a job is done well.
Now, let’s talk about the technical aspects of the postcard designs. We would like to mention here that we have always found things that offer pop-up images, etc. to be nothing but fascinating but what’s even more interesting about these pop-up postcards is that the butterflies and moths are visually so realistic that you would need a minute to accept that they are just illustrations. But wait, there is more to it! After having seen Nikolett’s creativity, you can tell that she wants things to be more than just perfect so what she did with these pop-up cards was that she had a special printing technique incorporated as the final step of the process. In easy-to-understand words, the technique used to enhance the overall look and feel of the designs is known as digital varnish. Additionally, the use of the golden color adds to the beauty of the designs – making them look stunningly realistic.
Another thing that you should focus on is how the designer did not overdo the use of the digital varnish or the golden color. By doing so, she was successful in keeping the designs subtle and aesthetically pleasing. If you guys are planning to work on something similar, we would suggest that you go ahead and do it but after you have done the required research on what you want to design, how to design it and the techniques, etc. that you would like to make use of during the process.
That’s all for today, guys! If you liked reading the blog then feel free to share your feedback with us in the comments section down below and while you are at it, don’t forget to let your friends, family and favorite colleagues know about this blog too. By doing so, you will be allowing them to get inspired to create their postcards. We would also like you guys to send in your special requests so that we can start working on them and be back here with your requested content and more super soon. Until then, keep reading and sharing our blogs with the people you love and care for.
