Whenever you start working on a branding design, you need to first consider the type of brand it is. For example; an ice cream brand can’t be boring and dull, right? The communication has to be fun and lively which means that you will have to work on an identity that is not only unique but it’s also playful. To achieve this goal of yours, you would want to study your target audience in detail. So, get to know how old they are, what they like and things like that. As far as introducing a unique element is concerned, you can offer vegan products or ice cream that people suffering from diabetes can consume without having to worry about anything. By doing so, you will be able to attract a huge audience as usually, brands tend to focus.
In addition, you would also want to keep in mind a couple of other things such as; for a kids’ ice cream brand, you need to create a vibrant and jolly color palette and add in all the design elements that will appeal to the younger audience. On the other hand, if your target audience comprises young adults and older people, then you would want to go ahead with a minimalistic approach to attract them. These are a few pointers that won’t only help you in the short-term but will prove to be fruitful in times to come as you will be more focused on fulfilling the needs of your target audiences.
Generally, the color palette for an ice cream should have pastel colors; some pinks here and some blues there. Or you can incorporate whites as well to give boost to the other colors that you are going to be using to create your visual designs. However, if you want to stand apart from the crowd with your branding (and obviously, with the kind of products that you are going to be offering), you need to go an extra mile to experiment with bold colors, attractive imagery and more.
For example; the brand, La Verde is more focused on using colors that reflect the elements of nature and freshness. By using the bold yet soothing green color, they are already ahead in the game. And the rest of the menu has enhanced whatever they are trying to sell in the market. Now, these are the things that you guys need to observe while working on your ideas. You can also make your branding more fun and attractive through typography. Either pick the already available fonts and styles or have them created and then use them to write your messages and then some more. And we are sure that you won’t be disappointed to put that kind of effort into your branding design project.
Ice cream brands must also utilize the art of storytelling as it can help them give voice to their products. Or another thing that you can do to make it more fun is to introduce a couple a mascots. Also, do your research first and then develop mascots so that they can deliver your branded messages while being in character. We would also like to mention here that you should never hesitate to try out things that make sense to you because your target audience would get them too, you know?
