Advertisment

Hi, you guys! How are you all doing? We hope that all is well at your end and that you guys are also having a really nice time reading our blogs and making the most of them for your personal and professional projects and then some more. In this blog today, we will be talking about the paper printing and the readable font size that is considered ideal for printing all sorts of materials such as newspapers and magazines, books, pamphlets and so on. We cannot wait to formally begin the blog but before we do that, we would like to take a moment to thank you all for the love and support that you send our way and for making sure that your friends, family, and favorite colleagues are also reading our blogs. And we would love to see more of that happening in the future as well.

Okay so, what *is* the readable font size in the process printing and does it even matter? Well, yes, the font size does matter – no matter what is happening, what is being printed and who is printing a certain material. Want to know why? 🤓 Well, then ensure that you keep reading the blog till the end, okay?

As you guys can see, even this blog is being displayed at a certain size – unless you have adjusted the settings according to your requirements and even though it is a digital screen you are looking at, some standards should be followed when it comes to font sizes. Following a system in the context of font sizes is important and there are many reasons behind it. For example; if the font size is too small, no one will be able to read what’s written on a piece of paper (which could be anything from books to menu cards and manuals). So, how do you get to decide the font sizes and then go ahead with the printing process? Allow us to share everything that you guys need to know in the next part of the blog!

If you guys read newspapers or are book readers, then we are sure that you also know that the text comes in different sizes such as the headings, page numbers and the the body text itself. Let us start with the font size of the headings first. So, in the printing process, the headings should be written or printed in 14 to 24 points or shortly known as pt. Moving on, usually, the font size that is used for the body text of books, as well as general print material, is 10 to 12 points. For newspapers, the body text can be printed from 8 to 10 points while the headings should be, at least 18 to 30 points big. Note that this size depends on the importance of the news as well. As far as the out-of-home advertising (OOH) materials are concerned such as posters and banners, designers and printers follow 30 points or above to ensure that their printed materials will be readable by the masses.

We want you guys to also know that, at times, a certain font or font size might look okay to you but do not forget that you are making the printing materials for the masses to view and read. And that can include people from different age groups as well as people who have issues related to their eyesight and do not know it yet so, make sure that you cater to the needs and requirements of the actual viewers, target audiences, etc. while deciding the fonts and their sizes. In addition to that, we want you guys to pay attention to the fact that overly decorated and fancy fonts should not be included in your visual design elements as they are difficult to read and look at. And we are sure that you would not want to waste your energy, creativity and other resources on something that won’t even be read by the target audience.

That is all for today, you guys! If you liked reading the blog (which we know you did! 😀), then do not forget to share your feedback with us in the comments section down below and while you are at it, feel free to share the blog with the people you love and care for so that they can also learn new things today. And before we (finally) conclude the blog, we want you guys to make sure that you take some time and share your special requests with us and we will be right back with your requested content and more. Until then, keep reading and sharing our blogs in your personal and professional circles.
