As the term suggests, layout means the overall structure or appearance of a design project. We must also share that the term layout refers to the master plan of literally anything and everything that a designer is working on. This master plan helps the designers lay out the arrangement of the visual design elements allowing them to create something that can be a website, a magazine, a social media post, a digital media ad, etc.

2. Composition:

This design term refers to the placement of the visual design elements on a (blank) canvas. The composition can be worked upon by referring to the design rules and theory principles. We must also add here that the designers can also seek inspiration from the latest design trends to make their compositions better and more appealing.

Even though this design term is self-explanatory, it can still confuse a couple of designers, especially if they are new in the field. But don’t worry as we are here to let you all know what body copy in a design means. Okay so, the body copy happens to be the text or the main content of an ad (social, digital & conventional). It can also be the text that is created for magazines, books, websites, etc.

Mockups are created by the graphic designers to know how a finished product will look like when produced or manufactured. Mockups are usually designed to be shared with the clients and other stakeholders so that they can okay the ideas or inform the concerned party to incorporate a couple of changes.

6. Stock Photos:

Stock photos are basically those photos that are clicked to serve the masses. These photos are generic and cover vast subjects such as buildings, people, food items, and stuff like that. Stock photos are sold on certain terms and conditions and can be used and reused by many different projects as per the needs and requirements. These are taken by professional photographers and the color adjustment is already made. Designers only need to use them as they are or do photo manipulation.
