Wait, we want to talk about something even more important than designing the paperback book title itself, and we are sure that after reading it, you guys will be able to make informed decisions in the future. That thing is understanding the difference between a hardcover and a paperback book.

Hardcover Book vs. Paperback Book:

As the name suggests, a hardcover book comes in a hardcover and, at times, a dust jacket. The hardcover is durable, not bendy, and offers a more premium look. Not to forget, hardcover books are expensive as well, and these books are purchased by those book readers who are almost always expanding their collections. In addition to that, libraries, book corners, etc., also invest in hardcover books. On the other hand, paperback books are lighter in weight and easier to carry, too. Moreover, these covers are usually made of paperboard, which is not that durable. However, these books are generally purchased by people who want to read books but do not want to spend a lot of money on them. Now, let’s talk about how you can proceed with the designs of the paperback book titles!

Okay, so, first things first, we want you guys to consider publishing your books in different formats and not just in print. And you can suggest the same to your clients as well. By doing so, the book will reach a wider audience, and that is something that can benefit anyone and everyone who is involved in the entire job. So, let’s suppose that you guys have decided that you won’t only publish hard copies but will also go for e-books. Congratulations, you have taken a big step already, and we would also like you guys to know that publishing e-books is not as costly as publishing printed versions, so you can chill, really. 😌

Having said that, it is important that you keep the book titles, content, and everything else the same for all the versions that you are going to go with. Do not omit or add any information that’s not available in one format, as this can confuse your audiences, and that’s not something you would want to happen. Next, you would like to finalize the key elements such as the title and subtitle of the book, the name of the author, etc. Then, you would like to design the cover as per the theme of the book so that there’s harmony on the overall look & feel. Make sure that you proofread everything from the book title to the book contents before you send them out for printing purposes.
