Hi there, everyone! We hope that you all are well and that you are also having a great time reading our blogs and making the most of them for your personal and professional projects. In our today’s blog, we are going to be talking about the main difference between branding, marketing and advertising. If our blogs in the past were not clear enough, we want you guys to know that this happens to be one of our favorite topics to talk on. And we can’t wait to share everything that you guys need to know in order to learn the difference between the terms that can cause confusion at some point in your professional careers. So, make sure that you guys read the blog till the end, okay? 🫡
In the first part of the blog, we will be sharing what is meant by the terms branding, marketing and advertising and then we will share the difference(s) that you must know in order to differentiate between these three terms. Let’s get started!
Branding:
We have seen that a lot of people think that branding is just the logo design, tagline or a nice color palette, but that is not the case. Branding is more than just the visual design elements, the playful use of words and the high res. photography. Allow us to share what branding really means and how you can make informed decisions while having the right kind of knowledge.
Branding happens to be everything that helps you introduce your brand in the market and make it stand apart from the crowd. For example, if your potential customer walks into a store, they must feel that strong emotional connection the moment they come across one of your products. That emotional connection is built by putting forward the mission and values that you, as a brand, believe in. Moreover, you would also like to ensure that your brand is always represented through the unique identity that you earlier worked on.
Marketing:
Marketing, on the other hand, is the process of executing your strategies; the strategies that you start working on after conducting market research, getting to know your target audience, and how your products or services can solve a problem or two that they are facing.
We know that many people think that marketing a product means promoting it but that is not all; marketing means that you have to strategically put forward the product or the service that you are going to offer to your target customers so, it usually goes from market research, and covers crucial aspects such as understanding consumer behavior, product development, pricing as well as the customer services.
Advertising:
The process of advertising means that you are talking about your products or services through a loudspeaker, if you may. But no, honestly, that is how advertising works, you know? You select the platforms and mediums on which you are going to be talking about what you have and can offer and how you are also different from the rest of the brands that are already in the market.
Allow us to explain how advertising works for brands, regardless of the scale of the businesses they are coming from.
Advertising lets brands create the element of curiosity among the target audiences, create desire and then convince them to purchase the products or avail the services. And if their experience goes well, they are also going to spread the word among their friends, family and more. So, it is like a cycle; it gets initiated from your end but it continues as soon as your potential customers start interacting with you.
Having said that, it is now time to talk about the difference between branding, marketing and advertising so, continue reading the blog, okay? 😀
Branding happens to be the personality that you work on for your business, whereas marketing is the process of communicating what you believe in, as a business and advertising is the process of promoting your products or services. We are sure that the difference between the three (confusing) terms is now clear. 😌
