Hi there, everyone! We hope that you enjoyed reading our previous blog and that you were also able to make the most of it for your personal and professional use. In today’s blog, we won’t be talking about work-work, but we will talk about it in a way that people who are introverts can decide if the field of graphic design is for them. If you are an introvert, then make sure to read the blog till the end. Okay? 😀
To be honest, when we were growing up, not a lot of people were familiar with the terms introverts, extroverts, etc. But we are glad that more and more people are vocal about how they feel and operate in their respective lives because it’s not just about the awareness but also the fact that people can now reach out to other people, professionals, and more to seek help and make things better for themselves.
Having said that, let’s dig deeper into the meaning of an introvert and how it can impact a person’s day-to-day life. An introvert is someone who likes to stay in environments and situations that are calmer, where they do not have to interact or socialize with other people, and in addition to that, such people prefer solitude over social gatherings. We would also like to share that introverts are mostly quiet and in their lane, and honestly, they do not mind being there, too. That’s mostly because these people prefer not to get bothered by the external stimuli, and when they are not triggered due to that, they feel quite peaceful doing their own thing.
However, there are some people who also identify as people who are both introverts and extroverts, depending on the situation, environment, and the kind of people they are around. But that’s a conversation for some other day. 😌
Okay, so we have briefly touched on the term introversion, and now it is time for us to share how it can impact the lives of the people who are introverts. Also, there is nothing to be worried about because we have mentioned earlier as well, due to more awareness regarding these terms, people are welcoming towards those people who face difficulty with one thing or another. Allow us to also say that you do not have to worry about the impacts of introversion on your career choice because these days, many organizations are following different modes of working, from a hybrid system to Work from Home (WFH) or purely remote jobs when it comes to graphic design.
We personally think that graphic design is a good career for introverts, regardless of where they are working and the work mode that they are required to follow. Allow us to share why:
The graphic design team is not the one that has to connect with the clients the moment they clock in the workplace or start their day from home, etc. They are also not the ones who have to deal with clients when it is time to send in the designs for approvals. In addition to that, graphic designers also do not have to interact within the department to get things done.
You must be wondering ‘That sounds really chill!’, right? Well, to be honest, once the tasks have been assigned to the design team, they get back to their work desks and initiate working on the projects, etc. They might have to discuss the tasks with the account managers from time to time, but that does not have to happen every day. Since you are not expected to be present in every meeting that is arranged with the clients or third-party vendors, you can simply focus on your tasks and well-being while you are at it.
Graphic design, in general, is not very demanding when it comes to social interactions so, if you are an introvert, you will enjoy working in the field for as long as you want to. The best part is that you get to channel your creativity without having to constantly interact with your peers and other stakeholders at all times.
