Hi there, hello there! How are your work life and life in general treating you? We hope that you guys are well and super excited to spend the holiday season with the people that you love and care for. For our today’s blog, we wanted to talk about something that might or might not become the future in the future and we can bet that you guys will have a really nice time reading it. But before we start sharing everything that can help you guys know if Generative AI is the future, we would like to take a moment to thank you for the constant support and love that you guys send our way and for always encouraging us to keep creating the content that we love to create. We would love to see more of that happening in the future as well.
With the advancement in the field of technology, so many great things are happening almost daily around us and Generative AI is one of them. Generative models are designed and created to achieve various objectives but it is also safe to say that they make the lives of so many people so much easier too – given the fact that they are utilizing the models responsibly and not exploiting other people’s original creations. We are sure that you guys must have heard about ChatGPT (a chatbot that was launched in November 2022 that enables its users to generate and refine content in multiple ways as per their needs & demands) and how it (almost) scared the content writers across the globe that they might go out of their jobs.
The common concern that surfaced was that organizations such as Public Relations companies, and software houses would want to use ChatGPT instead of paying hefty amounts to content writers for their tasks. Educationists were also concerned mainly because of the fact that students, instead of working on their class projects, thesis, etc. started to use ChatGPT to complete their assignments which obviously wasn’t a good sign as most of them became fully dependent on the language model and stopped doing their own research.
Like ChatGPT, there are several other models that are being used in the world to create art and music such as DALL -E, AIVA, and MuseNet which can create realistic images and generate music respectively. Now, we would like to mention here that while there is nothing wrong with the use of such models and bots to create content of your own, there will always be some concerns (that are valid too!) for example; established artists both in the fields of arts and music go through so much to reach where they are at the moment but with the bots, those people who have no experience – none whatsoever, can not only generate content of their choice but they don’t even have to do a lot of things to do that either. And that can also impact their imagination and creativity as well because they will only have to command the models / bots to create stuff for them and that would be it. For some people, that’s not on while some debate that when there is technology to create something, you must not shy away from it because it is there for a reason, you know!
Having said that, we believe that Generative AI is very much the future of 2024 and it will continue to stun us in its own ways in the new year. For example; Generative models are being trained to improve themselves so that they can understand the commands that are directed towards them from humans. The models will become even more sophisticated in times to come so that they can continue generating content while also assisting humans in the best possible ways.
We would like to conclude our blog with the note that while technology improves how we do our things in the future, the onus of intelligently utilizing the Generative models is entirely on us so we might as well use them responsibly by ensuring that we are not stealing anyone’s work and we are doing our research to back our content.
