Hi there, everyone! Are you guys having a nice time reading our blogs? We hope that you are and that you are also making the most of them for your personal and professional projects. For our today’s blog, we are going to be talking about vintage badge designs and how you can create them after having a look at this stunning collection of the very design ideas created by David Sierra who is a Spanish designer and illustrator. We can’t wait to share everything that you guys need to know about what he has created but before doing that, we would like to take a moment to thank you all for the love and support that you send our way and for always making sure that your friends, family members and favorite colleagues are not only reading our blogs but they are utilizing them as well. And we hope to see more of that happening in the future too.

First things first; let’s get to know David Sierra for a better understanding of the design project that he worked on in 2023 for AFAR Magazine. So, AFAR Magazine is a print and digital publication based in San Francisco, California. The publication was founded in 2009 and it focuses on experiential travel and to make travel a force for good. David Sierra collaborated with the publication in 2023 to create 12 illustrations for their article titled “Where to Go in 2023”. The article talked about the 12 interesting and beautiful destinations that must be visited in 2023. By helping the readers and travellers make informed decisions, both the publication and the illustrator did their part and now it was on the readers, etc. to get to those destinations with their loved ones to make the most of 2023.

What we liked the most about this collection of full-of-life and attractive vintage badge designs was that David incorporated the format of old travel stickers. And the results were more than just amazing mainly because he was able to take readers back to the good old times when things used to be simpler and life was too, a little easier to live, you know. Also, not to forget the elements of nostalgia and adventure attached to the 12 destinations are unmatched. Allow us to share the names of the destinations that were covered by David in the form of his lively illustrations:

  1. Prince Edward Island, Canada
  2. Great Lakes, United States
  3. Bangkok, Thailand
  4. Salvador, Brazil
    5. Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
  5. Tasmania, Australia
  6. Camnutal, Panama
  7. Sharjah, UAE
  8. Brescia & Bergamo, Italy
  9. Graz, Austria
  10. Baltimore, United States
  11. Transylvania, Romania

Let’s now talk about how you guys can also create your very own vintage badge designs for your businesses as well as for the ones that you are associated with. We are sure that you guys must have read this multiple times before in our blogs that we always encourage you to first understand the business and its objectives and then dive into creating branding and other visual elements for it. That’s not just crucial for making sure that you guys won’t have to rework any concept or design ideas for that matter but the information and insights that you will gather after thoroughly understanding your business would be really helpful in making the right choices all the time.

Now, we understand that creating vintage badge designs is a tempting idea but you also need to ask yourself if your business needs vintage design elements in its branding. Allow us to helo you understand how you can do that without having to put in a lot of efforts. Vintage design elements are created to evoke a sense of nostalgia among the audiences so, if your products and services align with all things vintage and the results will also resonate with your audiences, then you must utilize those design elements to create visuals for your business.
