However, there is a chance that you must be thinking why the name of the brand is Eggyolk Coffee. So, allow us to share that egg coffee is a Vietnamese drink that is made by using egg yolks, sugar, Robusta coffee and milk. We must also mention here that the brand’s popular product is egg coffee but they wanted to do something about the waste materials that were being produced due to their packaging, etc.
As a responsible brand, Eggyolk Coffee reimagined its merchandise packaging design so that it could actively reduce the environmental impact that its business was causing. While we are super proud of the brand team and everyone else who helped them achieve their goals, we cannot wait to share how adorable their other products are. Okay so, the brand (also) sells tableware collections by packaging them in environmentally friendly packaging. The tableware includes items such as Egg Coffee Sets, Dawn/Dust Cups, and Sunny Side Up Plates. Now, when you look at the collections, you would automatically feel this immense joy to see what the brand has to offer and those items can make you feel so happy and fresh the moment you will look at them. But what was the need to develop such a merchandise packaging design if the brand already had boxes, etc. to pack their stuff inside them and then sell away? It breaks our heart to mention that Vietnam is one of those developing countries that are suffering from a severe pollution crisis. And what’s more alarming to mention here is that the country is also one of the biggest contributors to mismanaged plastic waste. As a result, the air quality in Vietnam is quite poor and can cause serious illnesses to the locals and anyone who visits the country. It has been observed that small and midsized enterprises (SMEs) are majorly responsible for such pollution. Now, Eggyolk Coffee is an SME and the brand wanted to achieve two goals; one was to develop packaging that would not only reduce the costs but would also not add to the environmental impact and secondly, the packaging and communication had to be approachable. The brand also wants to make friends with its customers so the use of fresh colors and intriguing visuals are some of the things that were utilized in creating what the brand’s creative agency, Hands Collective has created for them.
If you look at the merchandise packaging design, you will see that the brand has very effectively used the packaging boxes to share only necessary information. By doing so, they can reduce the use of ink and paper while making sure that they don’t compromise on their brand identity. But there’s more to it. How about we tell you that the packaging design resembles the action of cracking an egg which adds to the brand experience? Now, you want to feel that, right? We do too! 😜
Also, the tableware is packed using straw which is replaced by plastic wraps but keeps the products safe from damage. Over time, the rotten straw can also be used as organic fertilizer. Eggyolk Coffee is doing what it can to protect the environment and if you’re running a business, then now is the time to start thinking towards the same goal.
